I have been asked to make a christening cake, three tiers. They want the middle tier to be an 8 inch round fruit cake and top and bottom cakes sponge. Is that possible if I dowl it properly? Also, the fruit cake is already made and matured but is only 2 inches high, I want the other tiers a bit taller so it doesnt look too wide and short, will it look wrong?

It should be fine, as long as you support it correctly, and if you want the fruit cake to appear the same height as the other cakes you could put a styro round under it to bring it up to the height of the other cakes.

as long as you have proper supports you should be fine, and I love the look of one tier being half height.

I purchased them, they were all individually stuck on the cake though. Super cheap though! I would've charged upwards of $5.00/flower to make them so the customer opted to order them, I think all the flowers were under $30 w/ shipping and there were LOTS of them that I didn't even use on the cake.
