I was wondering if it is still cheesecakey tasting without it, or if anyone has a recipe similiar that tastes like cheesecake but it still a layer cake.

AI know this post is old but I have the exact same question. I like chocolate but would rather leave the swirl out. Anything I would need to replace it ? Anyone make the recipe without the swirl?
