since you mentioned buttercream flowers I will recommend one older book. It's "The Wilton Way of Cake Decorating" Volume One - A Complete Encyclopedia. I know you can find it at A m a z o n . c o m. Decorating has changed so much since the book was first published but I still consider it a good one for piping buttercream flowers.

I got this book off of ebay: "65 Buttercream Flowers" by Richard V. Snyder. It isn't too bad. Also There is a dvd by CakeGenie entitled "From bags to...BUTTERCREAM FLOWERS". You can check her site at www.cakegenie.com. It also isn't too bad.

I have also heard of some people making the wilton royal icing flowers using BC and freezing them to make them easier to handle. Hope that helps! Good Luck!!

He is usually at ices convention demoing all this. i have taken his demos. these flowers are way beyond wilton, and i do love wilton. but these books and cd . take you in a different direction for piping b/c flowers.

The Wilton Way Volume Two has all the US state flowers plus several heirloom roses and other flowers.

All three Wilton Way volumes should cost no more than $25 each and are listed all the time on ebay.

The Wilton Celebrate annuals # 1,2,3 are more sources for piped flowers, and sell for about $10 each on ebay.

The Richard Snyder book "65 Buttercream Flowers" is a good supplementary source.

Just seen this again. Again Roland Winbeckler's flower book. Linda Reese cd if still availalbe. I t is great. I think Mike Terry has dvd's on buttercream flowers now. Just Google that and you will see what i am talking about. They are way above the wilton flowers . I wish Gail Hyatt had something out there , but i don,t think she does. I also see these techniques at the ices convention from asian decorators. They are out there on their buttercream(actually whipcream of some sort) icings. They make beautiful flowers and background techniques. So does Linda Reese. I understand that she is not decorating anymore, but you could look her up. Good Luck. I do know that Roland's book is still out there. Francis Kuyper had a book and dvd also. I don,t know if hers is still out there. She is deceased. I love the wilotn books., but these i have mentioned are way over that.

Ok did some research after that last post, which I Thank you very much for the info!

Mike Terry does have two dvds: http://bakerypros.com/videos.html about 50.00

The Wilton Way of Cake Decorating, are older books but they are out there besides on Ebay which want an arm and a leg, I found them on a few web sites for as low as 1.67, and 10.00 plus shipping. Look at the book web sites: Alibris, Abe books, Betterworld books, Valore books, and amazon...These are all web sites Ive used in the past and are very good service.

Can also find Roland Winebeckers books on there, as to Linda Reece, she is strictly a cd for the computer, which Im not liking. I like a dvd, or book where I can be in the kitchen as I play...call me spoiled.

Hope this helps you all!!! and again thanks for sharing the info.

I think The Wilton Way Encyclopedia Vol 3 is THE BEST book out there:)  I suggest one opt for it 1st over the other ones.
