Lemon Curd Homemade Or Store Bought

My friend really wants a lemon cake with lemon curd. I wanted to do homemade but I am worried about it sitting out at the reception? Should I just do store bought because of the preservatives? I am also making a from scratch lemon cake.... am I crazy?

I always use Dickersons brand, I just love their products - so tasty. So I see nothing wrong with using a quality brand if you don't have time to make your own.
