This person has this lot for sale in a link below. I'm not familiar with all the costs of the things shes posted so I wanted your opinions on if this is a good deal or not for a starting baker. Thanks!

Seems expensive to me. I don't think I would pay more than $150 or $200 for it.

Ok, thanks for the input.

Also, I've read how good the magic line pans are.. If you had the choice in which brand to start off in, which would you choose?

there isn't THAT much stuff there, the pics on the top right, bottom left, and bottom right are all different angles/zooms of the SAME photo!!....., also all those square pans don't have perfectly square corners (which is ok for some, but just something to notice)

Basically, you're getting a set of square pans (kind of), a rounded edged sheet pan (guess you could make lasagna in it), someone's old magazines they're gonna throw out anyhow, icing colors that taste aweful in your icing if you plan to achieve any REAL color with them, the tool caddy looks nice, and I'm sure you'll use the dowels.........but honestly, I wouldn't pay over $50 for that lot! You have NO IDEA what those colors look like, if they're dried out (I have bought some at the store that were already dried up), and you could probably buy a set of round and square pans brand new (with sharp edges on the squares) for under $150

I agree with KHalstead, I wouldn't pay more than $50.00 for that lot. I have more pans and supplies than that on one shelf in my pantry. It isn't that much stuff.

It looks to me like they have priced that all out at what you could BUY it for at the store! Nope, not a deal at all.

For that price, you could get exactly what you want, need and WILL use at Hobby Lobby or Micheals and even use the 40% and 50% off coupons and get alot more. I would most definately pass on this.

icon_eek.gif $375.00? icon_eek.gif I overlooked the price when I checked out the link earlier. I agree waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. icon_lol.gif Hope someone doesn't actually pay that for that stuff. What a rip-off.

You can get way more "new" stuff than that for $375.00. Hobby Lobby and Michael's both always have 40% or 50% off coupons like dianaguerrant said.
Seriously icon_rolleyes.gif I can't believe she's asking that much for that junk. icon_lol.gif

It seems a little steep. On craigslist, I usually offer half of what they are asking then see if they will meet in the middle. This person said firm on price, I would suggest checking ebay or amazon.

I got a great deal on my square pans a year or two ago. I am blanking on whether they are Fat Daddio or Magic Line, but the corners are totally square. Anyway, I got 2 12's, 10's, 8's, 6's, 4's and 2 round 4's for about $90 including shipping. So, it can be done if you're not in a hurry.

How would you know the colors and sprinkles are not contaminated in some way?
