I just got the Cricut newsletter email about their new Lite cartridges line and it has one for cupcake wrappers!
http://www.cricut.com/shop/#0/1/999/3/Cricut/Cricut%20Lite%20Cupcake%20Wrappers%20Cartridge
That is great..Now people can make there own instead of paying $15.00 for a dozen or more!
sweet! I knew I should have kept my cricut! I'll just have to borrow one now!
any word on when it's coming out? the cricut website says "not available."
maria
just read that they're out in some places and are exclusive to a store that starts with a "W" and ends in "mart." (Wasn't sure if I was allowed to mention the store by name.) Anyway, people said they're $39.99. It's steep, but the possibilities are endless, and you can always get scrapbooking paper on sale.
Do they have grease proof paper, I wonder?!
Maria
Hmmm . . . went to the store's website and couldn't find that cartridge, but did see the Cake (Wedding) cartridge.
the newsletter email says they're only available at walmart, starting July 1st. "Each Cricut Lite cartridge contains 200 images."
I only do cupcakes so I have been holding out on the Cricut. Sounds like I may need to get one after all!
If you have the Cricut DesignStudio software, you can download a font update that includes the Cupcake Wrappers cartridge. You can open DesignStudio and select the Cupcake Wrappers cartridge and play with the different styles and plan for when you get your cartridge. Of course you can't cut anything with the actual cartridge, but it allows you to play around and see what's there. And of course, you can also play with all the other Cricut Cake cartridges and see what's what!
I can't get the link to attach correctly, but here's the web address for the font update: http://www.cricut.com/cds/update.aspx.
Also, for those using Make The Cut and DesignStudio, there is a great website called "Just A Scrappin'" that is a ton of help and this woman is on top of everything in terms of the Cricut. It's a really good site full of lots of resources and information. Here's the link for it: http://just-a-scrappin.blogspot.com/.
Hope that helps

great tip!!! i'm looking at them right now! yes...yes i'm gonna buy this as soon as it comes out! omg they have one that looks like a cartoon princess' crown and one that looks like a race car!!!!
Will this be done in gumpaste or paper? Does this mean one will want a separate Cricut for paper? I say yes, but I would like to hear how everybody else is going to use this cartridge.
This will be the first cartridge I really, really want. I love making cupcakes more than anything else.

I have the Expression and was just going to use these with cardstock. But I bet that crown one would be neato to shrink and cut out of gumpaste!
I already have this on my "Things to Buy the next time I need to go to Wal Mart" list. I try to avoid that place, but this cart might force me to go
no way! ok, i'm going to check my walmart tomorrow. i need to buy new cricut mats anyway.
Kimkait-
That is so cute. I have to have this cartridge.
Did you use the Cricut Cake cutter? I thought someone advised not to use both for paper and food items. Or is it a matter of changing out the blade?
I have my cricut cake that I have not even pulled out of the box. It's going to happen this weekend. I suspect I have a stiff learning curve, but I continue to read posts like this to get an idea. I might just buy the Cricut for paper as my DD and I are finally getting into scrapbooking and I think I may just need to have one.
I just have the expression. I have not took the time to try it with anything but paper. That is my goal for this summer
Yay! I just bought mine at Wal-Mart...the only one there! I can hardly wait to play with it!
hmmm I might have to start contemplating the cricut. I heard so many mixed reviews I was holding out for the kinks to get all worked through. but this looks pretty cool!
OK, i'm going to check the walmart close to my work this evening...they better have it!!!!

LOL!!! That's how I felt!
arrrgggg they didn't have it! i wanted to throw something.
Oh No!!! When will it come in?
All of the Lite carts were SUPPOSED to be released on the 1st. I went into my Wal Mart on the 30th and they were all there, including cupcake wrappers. I couldn't resist, now I can't wait to cut some
Has anyone found a cheat sheet as to the sizes of the wrappers? I've heard that each one cuts a little differently.
If you have an expressions they say to set the fit to length button to 8inches. I have the original cricut and don't have that option.
I too just got one on Walmart.com. Yippee! Thanks for the heads up everyone! Now did we figure out the right cutting size or not?
