I had a request for a cake that is a sponge cake with peaches and strawberries with whipped cream. She said it is a traditional Italian Fruit Cake. I can't find a recipe for this anywhere. I've made plenty of Panforte and Panetone but that is not what she wants. Anyone have any ideas or recipes? Thanks So Much!!!

Sounds like it might be a family or local variation of the Cassata Siciliana. I would just make 3 layers of sponge, with a layer each of strawberries and peaches and then ice it in whipped cream. Easy and sound delicious!
