Hi Damaris,

I am from Bakersfield also. I just moved last January to Tehachapi (Stallion Springs). I have not been able to find ANY good cake supply stores near by, and I have lived in this area off and on for the last 20 years. I am going to start looking more to the Lancaster/Palmdale areas. I will let you know if I find anything.

I usally have to order my supplies online or make do with what I can find at Michaels and Joann's.

Sometimes ordering online just isn't the same as holding the merchandise and chatting with others in the store.

I'm in Roseville near Sac and there is Cake Castle that is fun. The have two stores - one in Sacramento and one in Carmichael.

I used to live in the Bay Area - San Jose. There is a Cake Works on Bascom Avenue. I have been trying to plan a trip (got a gift certificate for my birthday), but it's the wedding season, so it will have to wait.

Really? It's been years since I have been there. When I did go there, I always found what I needed and then some. I hope I'm not making a wasted trip.

ITA with Creative Cakes! We just moved to Fresno, and I'm so glad I found them. Their store is like cake heaven! lol. And the two girls there are really sweet and they really know what they are talking about. They also do a lot of classes. You can also ask them to do a custom class for you to teach you anything you want to know. icon_lol.gif

For anyone who knows the area, they are on Ashlan St. They also have a website. It's www.fresnocreativecakes.com

Here is one another store in Bay Area. Willow Glen to be exact. "Barbara of Pauline" on Malone street, off of Lincoln.

I think Fresno will be closer to you, but if you have a reason to come to Los Angeles then there are 2 very good stores. My first and favorite is Gloria's Cake and Candy, located on the Westside and the others is Jane's Cake and Chocolate in Montrose. (Montrose is part of the Glendale area)

Both have websites and well stocked stores

If you need packaging for your cupcakes, I ordered from www.usbox.com and got 10% off with the promotional code "2010". They were fast, reliable, great quality and a joy to work with! I hope you get all the supplies you need and good luck icon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gificon_biggrin.gif

I too live in Bakersfield and have found a little cake shop downtown called The Cake Crafters. Their located at 419 19th Street. They carry cake and candy supplies. And if they don't have what your looking for, just ask because they just might get it for you. Their really nice.

Is there anywhere in CA, maybe LA area or Fresno that sells cake boxes and cupcake boxes and things like that in bulk at a great price? And other cake decorating supplies too? Maybe a large warehouse or something like that? Just wondering.

In downtown L.A. there are lots of "Cash and Carry" where you can buy cake boards and boxes by the case, at great prices. The down side is that you do have to come here to buy them they do not ship. For cupcake boxes I buy from Papermart in City of Commerce (part of los angeles) but their cake boards and boxes to me, are a bit pricey.
