There are several spiderman cakes in the galleries that are head and partial torso views. Off hand I don't remember who it is that has directions but basically you take 2 ten inch round layers stacked, 2 six or eight in layers quartered ( shoulders) and make the head out of RKT. I will try to post my iron man cake I did this past month for my grandson. I only used fondant on the RKT head and the light source on his chest.

I just did a Spiderman cake last week. I just did the head of spiderman to look like the character. I just carved the head out of a cake and went to decorating.

I like the head / torso idea. I have seen a lot of Spiderman cakes like that, so Ironman would be neat.

Take it a notch higher... get a small round battery powered LED light from like the Dollar store and work that into his chest for his power source. That would be awesome to have it all lit up!

You can always use an edible image on the cake. I did that with the "I" symbol for the Incredibles cake I made for my son. The cake was a simple sheet cake with the edible image in the center. Easy peasy. And my son loved it.
