I wanted to post this update for the benefit of other airbrush users out there. My Aztec airbrush is still working great and I have not had one single clog... NOT ONE. It still puts out a fine mist and never spits. I love it.

If you look on my old posts from several years ago, you will see that I switched from a copycake airbrush to the Aztec. I got frustrated with the Copykake airbrush because of continual clogs. I always had to stop in the middle of a job and try to get the airbrush working again by dissassembling it, cleaning, and putting back together. Not an easy task. I always used airbrush cleaner and am meticulous with my equipment. Sometimes it would clog from one use to the next.

That's my two cents worth. Hope someone finds this info useful!

Hi Carlcake,

Thanks for your testimonial. It's good to know that after so many years you're still happy with your airbrush.

If I can, I have a few questions...
What is the model of your Actez airbrush?
And, whats the make and model of the compressor you use with it?

TIA
Tammy

I got my Aztec as a gift a few years ago from my BF for my Birthday. It was one of the pricier ones that i picked out, but man am i glad i got it. I had used one similiar to the kopycake in a bakery i worked in and it was nice, but i LOVE the aztec. I feel like it gives me so much more control, and my favorite part is mine doesn't have the needle, so no worries about accidently hitting it and ruining it.

I have an Aztek too, but I am still not sure if it was the right purchase.. Not because its doesnt work well, I have never used any other airbrush before so its all new to me. I still cannot figure out how to get fine detail sprays with it... but I think that is a technique thing and not an airbrush problem. I do like how easy it is to clean!!

I also have the Aztec A470 model. It was bought at winbeckler.com here as the full kit with the air compressor, additional cups, and airbrush colors (i see now it comes with the airbrush cleaner too which is a nice bonus- i had to buy mine seperate the first time)

I'm happy to report that I still have not had one clog with the Aztek. NOT ONE. It doesn't get any better than that.

I apologize for not answering the question above but am rarely on this site anymore.

I have the Aztek that is on the Winbeckkler site also but got it at Hobby Lobby. I use it with the Copycake compressor I originally had. The Copycake compressor is great but the airbrush was terrible. Clogs, clogs, clogs and like another person said, less control.

I have the same set up that leily has and I LOVE it. It never spatters and never clogs and it's ever so easy to clean. You don't have to worry about bending or replacing a needle.

Another year has gone by since my last post about the Aztek. I am happy to report that I STILL have not had one single clog. This long standing record speaks for itself. I had nothing but clogs with the copycake airbrush.

Here's to another clog free year thumbs_up.gif
