Hi Guys,
Do any of you use/recommend the Cake Boss software? I'm willing to invest in tools that will legitimately help my business. Curious what you all think of it.

I'm planning on getting it very soon. I wrote a similar thread in which many posters responded saying how wonderful it is.

Yes, I need to input a lot more info to really take full advantage of it. I love it for invoices, upcoming orders. payment, etc. I feel it was money well spent and I just do a small amount for family and friends.

it will definately keep you organized and sain!! if you use it. I keep it open all day and close it at the end of the day. I love how i can quickly look at open orders to see if i am at my limit or not, or look at payment due to see who hasn't paid yet, or quotes i have sent out to follow up on. There are a ton of features, the recipe pricing, the invoicing, shopping lists, calenda, reports.and more They all get used.

I'm extremely happy with it!! Honestly would be LOST without it!

On a side note, get yourself an external hardrive as well to back up your cake boss program on. I ran cake boss for 2 yrs. with no external back up and got a virus and it completely wiped cake boss out of my pc......they let me redownload for FREE because they are wonderful people and offer amazing customer service, since I had to redownload I figured it was time to upgrade to the new cake boss.
Luckily all of my customers info and everything came right back when I redownloaded but still........I almost had a heart attack thinking that I had lost EVERYTHING over the last 2 years!! Every order, every phone number, etc. My whole business is in that program!! I didn't even know what cake orders I had going for that week!! (any given week I have anywhere from 10-30 cakes and there is no WAY I could remember every order and what needs to be written, flavors, decorations, etc.) This program is invaluable to me!

Worth EVERY penny it costs, believe me!!! There is not ONE cake decorating tool/supply that I use more often or rely on more heavily than this computer program!

I have a feeling as soon as the big wig bakeries find out about it, Cake Boss will be able to charge at least 5 times what they're charging, I say get it now before they find out how much $$$ we would REALLY be willing to pay for something like this! lol

You may find that it runs slowly on your netbook. We've had mixed reviews of using it on those.

Alleykat1, all I have is a netbook and eventhough it takes it a while to load once open the operations run just as quickly as it did when I had it on my original big laptop. Love the portability, and if I am at a bridal fair or an offsite consult I can easily enter new customer orders/bookings right on the spot. Did I mention how much I love this program?...LOL!

Are there any UK users who could give their feedback on the product? I watched the information video on it this morning and it looks good. I didn't know whether there were any functionalities which were more tailored to the US market that wouldn't be applicable for the UK?

Also, does it work ok with different versions of Excel? I've just got 2010 Professional Plus.

Thanks icon_smile.gif

How funny! I just posted about Cake Boss in conjunction with my netbook! I LOVE it (so far- I've only had it a day, lol!) I can deal with slower than normal if it means that I can input all data immediately and not have to write on random sheets of paper until I get to my laptop!

Kimberly - I can tell you that we have a good number of users in the UK. I have not had any problems reported to me about formatting or functionalities specific to that market. CakeBoss uses whatever currency you have set in your computer's Control Panel/Regional and Language Options, so it is able to be used worldwide.

It should be comptatible with any version of Excel, although I have not personally had the chance to test it against the Excel 2010.
