Kelly Rippa awile back was doing some cake for a cause thing and this was the recipe that was posted for Buddy's Buttercream. Just thought some of you would be interested.

BUDDYS TIPS RECIPES
Carlos Bakery Simple Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons corn syrup
1/2 cup water
3 eggs
1 pinch salt
1 pound butter

I saw the same. But I was thinking shouldn't it be 3 egg whites instead ? I thought it was a typo on the websites part .. I might be wrong tho. Never made any buttercream with the whole egg. Humm

I have seen this recipe before some years back. Actually, this is correct. I wish i could remember who makes this also. I will look in my recipes. It is just like making smbc or imbc. You just use whole eggs.

If you have access to an organic store, look for organic butter with no dyes. It's white! I find that icing whitener doesn't work quite as well on buttercream recipes with eggs. It lightens, but doesn't get it bright white.

you can also buy white butter i buy it from a cake supply store/and makes cakes, i just looked on buddy's site and that's not the recipe he posted, do you know which one is the right one, and is it really sweet, i don't like mine sweet like wilton's thanks all

I always add a touch of violet color to my icing and it goes white for me.

I've had his cake before, and he definitely uses a shortening based icing. I think I might try this recipe tho! Thanks for posting!

Has anyone tried this buttercream recipe? and as for the sugar in the recipe, is that powdered sugar?
