I already looked through the recipes on here but didnt really see anything that I could use. Im making a cake for an outside event in july. They want white chocolate buttercream, but my recipe is SMBC with w.choc ganache-that recipe would all melt right off. So I was wondering if I make the crusting buttercream and just added some melted white chocolate, do you think that would work...and taste good? Or have you ever tried and willing to share recipe? thanks for any imput!!

White Chocolate Butter Cream

I am not sure where my mom got this recipe but it worked for my cake I did a month ago!

1/2 small package instant white chocolate pudding(about 1/4 cup)
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup shortening
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
Add milk to get desired consistency

mix the pudding powder and milk together by hand until thickened
and pudding is dissolved. Set aside. In a mixing bowl cream the butter and
shortening together. Add pudding and mix well. Then add the remaining ingredients
and mix until well combined.

you can add coloring to it but I didn't! It taste great and is easy to work with!!

I made white chocolate buttercream last week using Indydebi's receipe. I just added 1 box (6 ounces) of bakers white chocolate. I melted the white chocolate and let it cool some before adding to my buttercream. Mmmm. thumbs_up.gif
