The Best Fondant To Use For Wedding Cake?..

I was just wondering if anyone can give me advice on what is the BEST FONDANT to use on a wedding cake?... something very easy to handle, pliable and doesnt easily get dry and hard.. I have tried using satin ice and the problem with it that i was having is that, It dried up pretty fast and when we transport the cake, it ends up cracking..
any advice will do please?... thank you so muchh!!!
I dislike Satin Ice very much... FondX has always done me right! It is very easy to work with and has never given me elephant skin! Bonne chance!
I feel your pain. Twice I covered cakes in fondant that I had purchased and on both occassions the fondant cracked all over the place. I wanted to cry. I was just about to give up on fondant covered cakes until I found this amazing recipe on CC. It's Michel Foster's fondant and it's a dream to work with. I make mines with white chocolate and have never had a single problem with it. The milk in the instructions refers to the cream in the ingredients list. You can use cream or milk but I always use cream. You can even make it by hand if you don't have a stand mixer. I just put some of the icing sugar into the glucose mixture to for a soft "dough". I then put some icing sugar onto the counter, pour the fondant mixture into it and knead it, adding icing sugar a little at a time until it forms a firm but soft "dough". I don't make it to firm as I have noticed that it firms a bit more when it's resting. Try it you won't be sorry. I ordered Fondarific brand fondant for the wedding cake I will be making in two weeks. I ordered a sample just to try out the flavors and workability. It tastes wonderful and doesn't dry out like Satin Ice and other brands. The great thing is you don't have to purchase as much to cover your cakes. You can order a sample of six flavors for 6.00 and it includes the shipping. The butter cream, orange, chocolate and the coffee are my favorites. I would still like to taste the lemon. I used the chocolate fondant sample rolled it out and pressed it in a silicone mold. I left it sitting on my table for one week and it was still pliable. If you want to order a sample you have to go to their website and click on the cart. If you decide to place an order go to fondantsource they sell it for less than the manufacturer go figure.
You have lots of cakes with fondant in your pictures. What kind was that? It looks like you did great with it. If you're used to making it homemade, then that's what you should do for the wedding cake, because that's what you've practiced with.
The best? Massa by Albert Uster. It's expensive compared to other brands, so I only use it on wedding cakes. But it works wonderfully for me.
I love MMF and it is inexpensive to make. It doesn't get hard and people love it.

I agree--Massa Americana by Albert Uster. I use it for my "high end" cakes. It's marvelous stuff--like silk--and the taste is wonderful. It seems to compliment any cake flavor.

Michelle Fosters updated fondant recipe is the best!!!! Tastes great,easy to make and very easy to work with.
The best fondant in the world would be MASSA..It's expensive but worth every penny!

Hi, by you posting that even though you use some kind of fondant, and satin ice is one of them. You are not happy with what you have been using. So , don,t keep using what you have been using, try the fonderic or pettinice( i like that also). Didn,t like satin ice either. There is one called fondx. Then Edna says Massa. Then try michele fosters recipe from this site. I am now trying it for next week end. I don,t like mmf, but that is just me. Anybody that makes it and likes it, that is ok too. We all like different things . Thats the way it should be. Hope you find what you need for your cakes.
