What type of chocolate works best for cake balls? Candy melts, ganache, something else?

Ganache doesn't set up and stays sticky, unlike dipping in coating or chocolate. I use chocolate icon_smile.gif

I just use melted chocolate. Melt and dip- easy peasy.

I add 1 Tablespoon of shortening for each cup of chocolate chips. thumbs_up.gif

I buy the candy chocolate from the ghiradelli store. It comes in white and milk chocolate.

I used chocolate chips with a little veg. oil and it set up when in the fridge, but back to room temperature it was soft. I was hoping it would set up like a candy shell.
