Just wondering if anyone can help me estimate how many pounds of fondant I will need for a wedding cake I am making this summer...I want to purchase the fondant in advance because I am making the cake while away from home on vacation.

It is a 3 tier luggage cake:
9x13"
11x15"
12x18"

Thanks so much!!
Julie

Here are a couple of links to fondant charts for round cakes. Will have to do a little estimating since yours are rectangle, but should be able to get close.

This one you can download to have on hand.

This one you can just bookmark the link

I am assuming all of these are 4" tall cakes. So my estimating comes out to about 10 lbs, and that is to cover, depending on how much detail (and colors) you have, you may want 2-3 extra pounds on hand.
