What Size Cake to Feed 60 People?

So I'm going to be baking a cake for 60 people, but I don't know what size I should go with. What do you usually make for this number of people? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What shape? Party or wedding?

Here is Wilton's guide, which has serving amounts based on wedding-sized portions of approximately 1 x 2 in:

In addition to the above chart (which you should print out and keep handy), here is a link to show you how to cut a cake to achieve those servings: http://www.cateritsimple.com/id10.html

Here is a photo of 1x2x4 pieces of cake, so you can see they are not teeny-tiny, but are a nice dessert size serving: http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1156785

Awesome, thanks so much! Basically it can be any cake I like, it's just for a big birthday, a few rounds or a big sheet, but wasn't sure which was the best way to go for sizes. Thanks again! icon_smile.gif
