I am making a sushi cake and I need to fill a fondant bowl with soy sauce. How do I make fake soy sauce so that it looks real?

I would use decorating gell mixed with brown and black gell color till I got the right shade. I did this for tea once and it was GREAT!

Ive used piping gel tinted with gel color to achieve liquid effects.

I would beafraid that vanilla extract would eventually soak into the cake (if you are using cake/fondant/buttercream as a bowl to hold the "soy sauce"
