I have been selling my cakeballs by the cake (I usually get around 60-65 cakeballs per cake), but I'm thinking of moving to a "per dozen" basis. What do you sell your cakeballs for per dozen? Do you give discounts on large orders?

Also, what kind of box do you put your cakeballs in? Since I sell such a large number, I've been using pie boxes.

Thanks!!

My cake truffles are two small or one large bite. I place them in candy papers, in a candy box. $18 per dozen.

I do not package mine individually unless requested. I sell mine for $.75 each, $4 half dozen, or $7.50 dozen.

Edited to add - Since location is so important when determining price, I am in South Dakota.

I sell mine for $16/dz. For more then 4 dz, $14/dz. I use pizza boxes for orders of 4dz or more from Sam's, but pie boxes work great too

I had a friend ask me for a "box" of them -- the equivalent of a six inch cake made into cake balls and SHE offered me $35 for the Box!! (Granted, I have no idea how many that would make though, but it's several dozen anyway.)

I'm in a small town in Ohio and I charge $6.00/dozen and they're about the size of a walnut (in the shell) and I put them in mini cupcake liners/candy cups and then into pie boxes.

I figured out that they cost me about $.10/each to make so I'm charging 5 times that and probably will up the price soon as well! lol

Mine are slightly smaller than a golf ball and I sell them for $1 each with a minimum order of a dozen. I put them in a plastic container from GFS and tape my business card to the top.

I use doctored cake mix and confectioner's coating on them.........I can make about 60 of them for just under $6.00!

That doesn't include the box though, just the balls themselves!

so $.75 each if they buy a dozen and $.57 if they buy 96... how did you come up with your prices? not snide, just curious. thumbs_up.gif

I sell mine 12 dozen for 19.20 , 18 for 24.95 and 24 for 28.95 the more you buy the cheaper it gets. Have you checked out the " Cake Ball Company " and " Austin Cake Balls " 6 dozen starts at 18.00 and 24 54.00. Don't under price yourself. Cake Balls are hard work.

These are two very succesful companies.....

I sell mine for $12 per dozen with a 2 dozen minimum per flavor. I am not real happy with packaging options. The orders I have sold have been 2 dozen-so they have gone in candy boxes with a foil liner. The box is tied with ribbon & it costs quite a bit in packaging! They are usually for a gift, so they need to look gift-givingish vs. if they were to be put on a platter later. At Christmas I put them in some little cartons (looked like chinese food carry out cartons) that were pre-printed with holiday patterns, for day care staff. They were a good size & looked good, but they are on top of each other--which isn't always good either!

I was selling them for $10.50 boxed in a pretty artistic looking box when I was selling them a1 1/2 years ago. Now that I'm going to start up production again I'm going to charge more. Just need to double check my costs and go from there.
