I am doing a 1950's style theme with cookies and cupcakes, and wanted to do fondant poodle skirts. The skirts are no problem, but I'm not a good artist and need an idea on how to get the poodle on the skirt. I have tried a trace of a poodle, but since its so small and the details are intricate the fondant is just tearing when I try to 'cut' out the poodle....Any ideas how a NON artist can get this poodle done? Thanks for all your help!!!

buy the cricut cake! haha, just kidding. icon_razz.gif

Maybe you could try using royal icing instead? You can pipe the poodle onto parchment paper (with your template underneath the wax paper, just like tracing). Once it's dry you can pick it up and glue it onto the fondant skirt (with edible glue or a small drop of royal icing). hth icon_smile.gif

Is there such a thing as a stencil? Also - are you letting the fondant dry for a while before you try to cut it. When I'm doing small letters, I let it dry out some first.

Maybe you could go online, find the poodle picture you want, manipulate it to size in photoshop, get an edible image of it made at the grocery store and stick it on your cake. I am not the greatest artist either and that is what I would do!

Thank you all so much for your input! I'm going to try RI, and if I can't master that then off to the grocery store I go for the edible image. Again, THANK YOU so much! I'm fairly new at all of this, and just learning what all the different icings are for. icon_lol.gif
