Well, I've definitely had a few stressful cakes that I thought I'd NEVER finish in time, but last weekend, I had my first "disaster"....

It was just a 1/2 sheet cake with buttercream icing & buttercream roses....(this customer ALWAYS wants the same cakes and I am so tired of buttercream roses!! lol)....But anyway.....The cake was fine....I put the cake in a box lid instead of in a regular cake box. And I usually cover it with saran wrap. OK, so about 30 minutes before the customer is supposed to pick the cake up, I get out the saran wrap to cover it. WELL....Just as I was pulling the end of saran wrap, it pulled the WHOLE ROLL out of the box and ONTO the cake! It totally destroyed 2 roses and went across the cake and flattened the border on the other side. GREAT! I had already thrown out my icing in the color. There was just a TINY bit left in the bag. So, I patched it up, but it still looked terrible! The lady's husband picked the cake up, so I don't know her reaction. I did cut $5 off the cake price! He said "OH man, I'm sure it ruined the taste!" haha. I guess I"ll find out what she thought when she calls next weekend for another cake!
