To Anyone Who Order The Cricut Cake From Cutncrop
Decorating By DALIG Updated 11 May 2010 , 5:42pm by scangel
I just got an e-mail from cutncrop saying that they are unloading the machines right now and that they will start shipping them tomorrow .
So hold on for a few more days ladies, Oh I am so happy I could scream of happiness.
I am soooooo doing the happy dance right now. ~I'm so exciteded, I just can't hide it. I'm about to loose control and I like it~ (Just a little Pointer Sisters for us old fokes out there) LOL
Thanks so much for giving us the update.
I am sooooooooooo upset over the mixup!! I wish I would have gotten mine from Michael's~I could have had it for a week now!!
I pre-ordered & it should have shipped on the 1st & it didn't. Apparently PC didn't send them in time or some nonsense. Not making me very happy.
Mine arrived yesterday. My accessories haven't been sent, yet.
When I ordered mine and later went back and ordered accessories, I had to check a box acknowledging that I understood that as it was a pre-order, the actual ship date could be delayed. In fact, just went back to the website to get the exact wording:
"This item is a pre-order only and will ship one day after we receive the item from Provo Craft. The best estimate of our in-stock date is posted on the product page. All pre-orders can be canceled before the product ships."
That box had to be checked before you could actually put the item in that cart. So I'm not mad at Cut n Crop. I think they gave proper notice of the delay and shipped them out right after they received them.
I saw the Michael's ad and also saw the fine print below it - *at select stores. I also figured the stores that did have it may only have a limited quantity at the sale price. Personally, I prefer the method I chose to purchase it, rather than driving around from store to store trying to find one.
Now to figure out how to use this thing before my nephew's birthday next weekend!!!
I also pre-ordered mine from cut n crop, and for me, the notice said that they expected the delivery date to be on the 7th. Well it's the 7th and mine is on the FedEx truck to my house as Im writing this comment. All I seem to be able to do is sit here and stare at my front door waiting for my FedEx man to show up.
I think cut n crop did an excellent job of keeping me posted on how things were moving along. I believe I received three different emails letting me know where they were in the process, and they have great customer service.
I figured Michaels, and the like, would be getting the machine, but I also figured that theyd have a limited stock and I hate trying to be the first in the store to get something on sale, as Im always the next person in line just when they run out of the sale item. LOL
I have to agree that Cut N Crop was very good about keeping me posted as to the status of my order.
I received mine today from CutnCrop. BUT-- I'm interested to know if anyone is having issues with the blade assembly. It seems mine is missing the adjustment knob. Pls let me know if any of you are having the same issues.
Thanks!
Melissa
Got mine today. It's still in the box. I've read so many stories about how difficult it is to use, I'm scared to open it. My husband is not very happy that I bought it.....he's gonna love it when he finds out that I can't work it!
Posted this here as well. For those of you who receive your machine and wonder why the blade assembly differs from the manual here is what I found out. If you go to content.cricut.com/c/downloads/cricutcakemaual.pdf this will show you the correct picture of the blade assembly. It is the one that is included with the machine.
Only trying to help because I was confused. Thanks to the others who helped as well. They need to update their manual!!!

You can also watch the DVD that comes with the machine to see how to install the needle. The DVD isn't great, but it is helpful.
I finally got mine today! I haven't had time to get it out & put the blade in yet~I can't wait!!
saw a demo at ac moores today, they were having a lot of trouble with the frosting as cricut calls it being to dry to cut right. I think that if the right fondant is used it will be really helpful. Those of you who have tried it did you use your own fondant or did you buy the sheets from cricut?
I don't like the thought of putting gum paste on my cakes unless they're flowers, so I've opted to try and find a way to make fondant work in the cake machine. I've heard of cc'ers having good luck with Wiltons Fondant, so I picked some up last night and tried it out. I think it worked really well. Ive attached a few of my test runs with just using the Wilton fondant and letting it sit on the mat for around 5-10 minutes.
the cutouts look good. I knew that if the right material was you it would work. i know that if I do get the machine, i wont be getting the sheets that they sell for it. cost here is 14.99 for three sheets maybe a little bigger then a letter size sheet of paper.
