Hey everyone -

My cousin is getting married later this month and he asked me to make his groom's cake. He wants a beer cooler. So I was thinking most coolers are kinda rough & bumpy on the outside. What if I covered the cake in frosting and then instead of using fondant, what if I melted some chocolate and colored it and then sponged it on the cake to give it a more realistic look?

Has anyone tried that and will it work?

Thanks

Angela

Hi ~ There are lots & lots of pictures of beer cooler cakes here on CC for you to check out.
Just go to top of page, click the ''search'' tab, type in beer cooler. It will show a few of
them but right above them, click on 'more in gallery' and you just might find one like you
want to make. Good luck!!!!

I've heard of people using paper towels and imprinting the frosting. this would give it a bumpy look.. but I've never tired
