PLEASE HELP!!!
Ok i have one person who wants to order 4 cakes from me this year. A 23rd bday, a baby shower, a kids bday, and a wedding cake. Please help me. Ive never made a cake for someones event. Ive just made cakes for parties without having to make it for a specific person. What kind of questions should i ask to better understand what kind of cake do they want? I have a few...
What flavor cake do you want? What flavor filling? how many servings? what is the occastion?

Is it going to be inside or outside? Fondant or Buttercream? Any allergies? Make sure you ask them for a theme, or if there something they have in mind. Possibly direct them here to CC so they can get an idea of what is possible with cakes... and DO NOT sell yourself short, cakes are hard work!
Good Luck!

If you offer deliver, ask if they will be picking up the cake or if you need to deliver it. If they have pictures of cakes or swatches that they would like you to refer to, then ask them to provide those.

Is there a specific theme for the party (esp the kids' one)?
Do they have a napkin or invite they would like you to incorporate the design from?
How many guests are they expecting?
Flavors?
Filling?
Buttercream or fondant?
Pick-up or delivery? What time do they need the cake? Delivery address?
Tiered? Stacked or pillars?

Remember to get a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit for each cake.

Hi, I normally only offer/ger requests for stand hire for wedding cakes or cupcake tiers so it really depends on the type of business you are targetting. A multi-tiered cupcake stand is definately worth the investment though as it is very popular and versatile. I have a round 7 tier stand which cost me £50 and I charge £10 hire so it has paid for itself in a very short space of time icon_biggrin.gif

Good luck with your orders!
