Can't wait to sit down and read all of this information, I really need this. I got my cricuit in January for my birthday and tried it once without success so yes I can't wait. Thanks everyone.

I used the NFSC. Love this recipe. I can't wait to play with my cartridges to see what cookies I can make. I am also clapping.

I was told by the distributor of Cricut Cake, that using products such as SCAL, which isn't licensed by Provocraft voids the warranty (as apparently the programme can fry the mother board of the computer component). I am now too scared to use it, as the person who told me not to, is the person I would have to return it to to get fixed. Has anyone had a problem using SCAL?

I have been reading and reading and reading on this and I just know I read somewhere that you could use SCAL but not MTC. Of course, I just went back to find that information, and I could not, so now I am not sure if I dreamed that up or not!? If I do find it again, I will post it.

I have both programs. No problems yet with any of them. I use them with my cricut cake. icon_smile.gif

OK - so I was looking at the back of my Cricut Cake and the input does not look like a typical USB input. It almost looks like a phone jack. Does anyone else's look like that? (I will try to upload a picture). I *reallly* want to try MTC tonight, so I need to know where to get the cable or USB connector to connect my computer to the Cricut. Any suggestions?

This is the best picture I could get of it. (i couldn't get the picture to upload-sorry!)

You should be able to get the connection from a place like Best Buy. I actually purchased Cricut Design Studio, and thankfully it came with the cord. I think it might be some kind of USB to s erial cable.

I used SCAL this weekend out of necessity, and it worked perfectly for me! I needed Chinese characters for a wedding cake. I had some nice thick ones in black that SCAL imported flawlessly. Then I resized and printed. THe bride's mother even complimented me on my chinese writing skills! How awesome is that?

That is awesome!!

So, I am not very computer savy, if I say I need a USB to serial cable/cord - someone will know what I am talking about? icon_redface.gif

The connection is crazy-looking - there is a white piece of plastic in it that I thought maybe came out (then it would look more like a phone jack) but I gave it a little tug and it didn't come out, so I think it is supposed to be there! LOL!

Thanks for your help!

I am SOO envious of everyone icon_mad.gif ! I can't get mine to work, it just tears. I have tried all the tips on here and it still fails. I am using Satin Ice fondant and gum paste, nothing is working, freezing, setting out, rolling thin, all the settings on here all tear. Been doing this since Saturday - ugggh! What am I doing wrong? Really need for a cake order Friday morning, but looks like this just is not going to work. Hope Walmart will take it back, cause nothing is working!
