Can you use First Impressions silicone molds for fondant? I have several sea shells to make for a cake due in August. I was going to make the shells out of candy but the wedding will be outdoors, I'm concerned the candy would melt. I'm wondering if I'll get the same details if I use fondant or gumpaste. Are the molds too flexible to get the intricate details? Can someone advise me before I order the molds????

Thanks,
Sandy

They are great for fondant! check out their site and they have a lot of tips for using the different molds.

You sure can. I always put my fondant in then freeze the mold for about 15 minutes before taking it out so I don't distort the fondant when removing it from the mold. It holds it's shape really well.

I do it all the time, very good detail. I too put them in the freezer for maybe 4-5 minutes.
