How do I get the effect that is on the second largest tier? I am talking about the vertical stripes. I need to make something that looks like this.

It looks like the stripes are marked into the fondant then painted with luster dust.

it looks like the stripes were just measured and marked, then every other one painted with super pearl luster dust mixed with alcohol?

I'm not sure...but it looks like every other stripe was painted pearl.

I actually think it is thin strips of fondant, dusted with pearl dust. It seems like , when i look at it from the side, i can see the strips.

Thanks so much! I pretty much thought it was marked, then painted with luster dust. Just making sure.
