I know this, because I guess my sister and her family were visiting my parents last weekend and looking through some pictures. One came up of me, my sister and my brother. My 3 yr old niece looked at the picture and said "Mom, Mike and Cake."

It's nice to know that she'll never think of me as Mean Aunt Lyssa. I'll take "Cake" over that!

Made me smile!

LOL!

That's like my little kids seeing pictures online (of anything) and going "Mom is that a cake?" or "Mom are you gonna make that cake next?"

haha

When my grandson comes to visit he always wants to come to look at cakes on here with his mamaw and soon as we see one he says "Meeeeeee!", on and on and on, "Meeeeee!", so in order to move on to the next cake mamaw has to say "Yea mamaw will make you one like that someday" and he says Otay....and we move on lol.

Too funny! My 3 year old asks me regularly if it's her birthday when she sees me making cake. And I've told my 22 year old that she's a cake snob now... every event she goes to, she calls and tells me how much better my cake is, and much cooler my cakes are.

My favorite story is about my granddaughter and she was telling her mom (my daughter) what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday. Her mom asked her, "Now just in case Banna can't make that kind, what is your 2nd choice?" (psst! "Banna" is their word for "gramma")

Granddaughter, (who was about 5 at the time?) puts hands on hips, gives mom the "you are so-o-o-o-o stupid!" look and says, "Just TELL banna what I want! She can do it!"

They are adorable!

My 21 month old starts shouting "cake" "cake" as soon as he sees a cake box, I think it was one of his first words LOL. My older kids (5 &3) look through cake pics and go "I want that one" (to the 3 tiered wedding cake!) , "no, that one" LOL!

What a familiar story!!! My 4 year old niece loves to come on cc with me and look at cakes. She recommends different cakes for different family members, and then she asks if they are too difficult for me! I've already let her decorate her own cake, shes a future cc member herself!!!

These stories are so cute!! Whenever I bake, I set the timer on the oven...as soon as it goes off, my youngest son, who is 1 1/2, goes running to the kitchen and points at the oven and yells "CAKE, CAKE!" It makes me laugh every time.

My niece, who is 5, already put her order in for her cake in February...her birthday isn't until September. LOL

Kids are funny!

My fifteen month old is trying to talk now, whenever he sees me mixing, baking and decorating cakes, he'll run around the kitchen in circles, and scream

"Appy Too Toooooooooo"

That in my sons language means Happy birthday to you, lol. I love his reaction when he see's cakes!

Mine too. I blows my mind.

My 8 year old is my toughest customer, he plans the cakes he wants down to every minute detail. I would never agree to work with a customer like him, lol. They are all pretty good at making fondant accents too.

My grandkids also make their special requests for BD cakes by " shopping" on CC. LOL
I always try to give them what they want because this means I have to improve my skills. The oldest has now started to draw and design tiered cakes. I think she may be the one really interested in learning cake decorating skills, but they all love to help me bake cookies and cupcakes! Seeing the joy on their faces is the reason I do this.

How cute! I'm loving all these stories.
My daughter turned 4 yesterday, and has decided she wants a Strawberry Shortcake theme cake for her bday party next weekend. So we were in the store looking at all the Strawberry Shortcake toys, and I asked her if she wanted to pick one out for her cake. She picked a strawberry shortcake CAR! LOL... so I said, "That's a little big for a cake" and she says, "NO, My cake is gonna be H-UUUUUUUUU-G-E!" With her arms spread as wide as they would go, smiling ear to ear with those big dimples....hard to say no to that icon_biggrin.gif

those are all cute stories!! My 3 yr old dgs calls me grammacakes now. Anytime he talks to me on the phone or sees me coming up, he wants to know if I have cake. He was disappointed when he came to visit one weekend and there wasn't any cake here. I made him a frog cake for his 3rd birthday in oct, and he still talks about his frog cake.

LOL, I know what you mean. We're having a small party for close friends and family, she's only 4 so really doesn't have many friends besides the few little ones that she has met at the ball field. There will probably be about 10-15 people there.......but hey, we're going to have a cake that serves around 50! Everyone has been waiting to see what kind of extravagant cake I'm going to do for my kids this year. I guess I've gotta live up to it icon_biggrin.gif This is one is going to be hard, I do so many with that theme that i'm fresh out of new ideas icon_sad.gif
