What causes white dots to form in BC icing? Sometimes, when I ice a cake in BC after it dries white dots show up. I iced a cake with dark pink BC and the next morning it looked like it had "white measles". The color was mixed in very well.
That's happened to me before, and I found out that it was the salt not dissolving properly when mixed. I fixed it by dissolving it in the liquids before adding it to the mix.
I have the same thing happen to me twice! Are you using wilton colors? someone said it happens with wilton colors.
I don't use salt in my icing. I was thinking maybe its a dirty mixing bowl.
Alright, maybe between us we can figure it out. What kind of sugar do you use? I use C&H right now. I am also using sweetex shortening. You?
