hi all, as most of you know iv been super busy all week getting my first wedding cake ready (iv not even had any time for CC lol) anyway i assembled it on site (another first!) it went really well (even though everyone kept coming to look at it and getting in my way before i was finished! ) im really proud of it, i wanted to thank everyone that has given me advice on it, i dont know what i would do without you all!
i cant seem to attach photos so if you want to see it it should be in my photos now i would love any honest opinons on it please, even critism (sp?) as thats how i learn to improve! thjanks again!
You did a great job....... good clean lines on the cake, and your figures are ADORABLE !!
Honestly, I think it's perfect! You made a personal creation that reflects what the couple wanted!
I only wish you had been able to snap a picture for your portfolio with a better background. I guess that's what Photoshop is for. LOL
Terrific job!

Terrific job!
i know the backround is awful! i wasnt happy with were they wanted the cake setting up, it was right by were all the children were playing and the table was VERY unstable! i have a friend who is good at fixing backrounds and things on photos (i cant do it lol)
thank you all, it always means alot when my CC family like my work, mainly because you all know what to look for and how a cake should look. friends and family seem to think that anything is amazin!
That cake was awesome! I just wish the background was better too, because it was such a neat cake that I wanted to see the details properly.
great work!
Get one of those folding cardboard/foamboard backgrounds kids use for science projects. Either get one that is solid black or paint it black or cover it with a neutral fabric or wrapping paper. You can then carry it with you as a portable backdrop. Lightweight, folds up, just set it on the back of the table, snap your pic, and then take it away. Easy peasy!

that is a fantastic idiea! thankyou, i will definatley be getting one! thankyou
I love it!
The background, well I can't comment. I don't think I have a pic of any cake I'm proud of in my portfolio that doesn't have one or more of the following:
A bottle of Tabasco
My Dad's floppy hat
A chair
Glare
A buzzard, humming bird or bees
Or my most favorite the hole that Grandpa and the kid swiped the frosting from. Funny, how they always manage to do it on the front of the cake. LOL
The first issue of CC magazine has a great article of taking good pics of cakes.
Anyways I think your cake is gorgeous.
