I just stumbled upon this so it's new to me but may be old news to all of you.

http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.aspx?pf_id=39019

Has anyone tried it? Any thoughts? It sure would shave off some time if it works as advertised.

Sorry, I don't know how to make the link clicky or add a photo of the product.

Looks like a complicated gimmick that will sit in the bottom drawer.

I fill cupcakes all of the time. I use a bismark tip (3 punctures in ea. cupcake) or an apple corer for one large shot. It's quick & easy with no little bits to wash or lose.

I just stick em with a regular large round tip on my piping bag and squeeze. There really is no need to make a big hole.

yep agree with everyone. find a tip you like and just fill away....easy. That thing looks like it would be a PIA to clean....plus, if your like me, I have so much crap now, it wouldn't even know where to put it.

IDK, I thought it looked cool at first too, until I read the comments. My problem with filling cupcakes is that I can't tell how much to put in.

I use an apple corer to hollow out my cupcake before filling. You can see better how much is going in, then I just use a piece of the core to plug the top so I'm not icing over the filling.

I fill them 2 ways, depending on the filling type.

If it's a dense filling, or one with things in it, like choco chips or oreos, I take a core out with an apple corer, fill with a tip cut off of a disposable bag, and then put a piece of the cake core back in the top.

If it's just buttercream or jam, I use a bismark tip (long, long stemmed piping tip) and poke several (usually 3) holes. I hold the cupcake at the bottom so I can feel the pressure of the filling going in. I back the tip out as I'm squeezing so that I don't make the cupcake explode.

I bought both the Cupcake Genius and the Apron! I think the pan is great - i ordered a second one. For me, it saves a lot of time and mess cutting holes into the cupcakes. I recommend both items.

I think the pan is great. I have two of them and use them all the time. It's extremely easy to just pop on the rack and throw them in the oven. I used to use a tip but you can't always use it depending on what you are filling with, and i don't have the time or patience to use a apple corer. This way the hole is already done for me, and i can throw in candies, pie filling, pudding, or anything else we can think of. I definetly think it is worth the money. I even use it to fill the centers of my corn muffins, and when I make meatloaf muffins

I couldn't get any of those avon links to work. So I have no idea what the product even is, except it sounds like it's a way to fill cupcakes (from everyone's responses). I also just use a pastry bag.

The link didn't work for me either, so I just googled 'cupcake genius'

http://www.thefrisky.com/post/246-crave-debbie-meyer-cupcake-genius/

it looks like it bakes the cakes with little plugs so they have a hole right out of the oven. Kinda cool. I may not buy it, but if it was a gift?? I'd probably use it here and there.

I too use a pastry bag, and Wilton tip #230, also known as the bismark (easier to find a number if you ask me)
