I've never sold cupcakes before but just received an order for 25 buttercream frosting, she said pink and girly. Im not really sure how much to charge for something like that. I was thinking $3 bucks each but I dont want to rip anyone off. They would be like the ones below only for a little girl.
thanks for taking time to read this
xoxoxo
I'm $2.75 each or $31 per dozen for basic cupcakes with piped frosting and sprinkles (if requested). I charge more if they're filled or have special decorations (fondant, flowers, etc).
My basic cupcakes start at $2.00 and go up to $4.00 for alocohol infused ones. That price is just for basic cupcakes with buttercream and some sprinkles or sugar on top. More intricate things like the ones you posted would be more because they take time to make.
I should have mentioned, my cupcakes are larger than the standard cup size. I'm priced higher than bakery cupcakes but in line with local gourmet shop cupcakes. Although there is one cupcake shop in my city that bakes large cupcakes, fills them, and mounds on the buttercream. They charge (and get) $6+!
OMG! $15 for a cupcake??? What is in this cupcake??? I know I have heard of cupcakes up the in the range of $6 or $7 for elaborate gumpaste or fondant accents but $15??
Alright. I guess I have you all beat! I sell mine $25 for 2 dozen...guess I'm just cheap!
Mine are $1.50 each for a plain swirl. I think $3 is reasonable for the ones in the pict (or even a little higher, if there are severel colors) The pieces that go on top will take quite a bit of time to make!
I just got my first cupcake order I wasn't sure what to charge either, I ended up charging 1.50 each for plain and 2.50 each with flowers (1-3 on each) I don't know... I probably could have gotten a little more. I'm with sugarspice I think 3.00 is a good price, but those pieces on top will take some time. Good Luck
Thanks everyone for the feedback. Im going to stick to 3 for now and see what I can sell. Appreciate all of the help.
I sell plain swirl ones for $2 each and ones with special fillings or fondant decorations for $2.50-$4.00 a serving. I also charge extra if they want a mix of flavors instead of all the same flavor
I was going to sayyou should sell your cupcakes for $3-$4 per cupcake, depending on the complexity of the little fondant creations.
I think pricing depends on the level of decorating. The more you do to them, the more you ask for them.
If you do nice work you should be compensated for it.
Those cupcakes above would start at, at least $3.00 a piece.
Good Luck!
