In my previous life (before cakes) I was in sales/advertising and this is a perfect example of using the 2/12 rule. Great service from a business and you tell 2 of your friends and they tell 2 more and they tell 2 more. Poor service and you tell 12 of your friends and they tell 12 more and then 12 more and then 12 more........Its great that you are posting this here because in this economy when your (our ) hard earned money speaks louder than ever and competition is so fierce for that $, customer service is at the top of list when deciding to buy. CC is a great place for referrals and is great to check on a business in this industry and its practices. Thank you for posting so I will know where NOT to buy!!!!

Has anyone ever called the police on this man, such as the teen who was threatened? Surley something could be done to him. I think cc needs to actively post this information much more and with clear WARNING notices.

Oh okay, weird! Sorry! I haven't ordered from them in over a year so I guess maybe they got worse since I ordered.

In the past I've gotten immediate and great service...but again that was over a year ago, maybe closer to a year and a half.

Just wanted to say thanks for the heads up, and the additional links. I ran across this site this weekend looking for a certain mold and was actually going to place an order at the end of this week. One of the things I liked was they were in Illinois (i like to try to support midwest businesses when I can since we're neighbors)

But after following some links and doing some searches looks like i'll pick a mold from somewhere else.

Looks like he copied his customer feedback from Ebay. I read the complaints on that one website and I can't believe anyone representing a company would act like that. I'd love to give him a call tomorrow icon_biggrin.gif

I can't BELIEVE this guy is still in business! I first read about him last year and I thought for SURE he would be done by now. I used to work with a Jack@$$ just like him, he thrived on making people feel like crap. Any and everything would turn in to a battle. It was classic little man syndrome. We should flood his crappy website with comments, imagine if he got 1000 emails from us CC'rs in one day? His head might explode .... tapedshut.gificon_lol.gificon_biggrin.gif

I seriously can't see how this guy stays in business! I actually emailed this company last week to find a certain mold. They wrote back and said they didn't carry it but would check with another company they use. Never heard back. So glad he never WROTE back!

I read those complaints! Wow! Seriously, how do they stay in business with attitudes like that?

wow, I am just speechless over his comments. icon_eek.gif Anyone who has been in customer service for more than 20 minutes knows this is definitely the wrong way to handle something that wasn't even an issue to start with.

So sad.

Wow... you know it's bad when even Debi doesn't have a quick, perfect response!!

I too read the comments on that feedback website, and am absolutely appalled at his behaviour. Wow.

I can't believe he is still in business. I wonder how the guy treats his staff (if he even has any).
Also, I would love to know if that poor young girls parents ever pressed any charges against him??!!
Well I bet if you lose one CC'ers business, you've just lost a crap load!

WOW. Totally amazing someone can be so crazy and still in business. You actively have to work at being horrible to get an "F" from the Better Business Bureau. So sad., he needs anger management and possibly other therapies.

I actually emailed this guy last week before this whole thread started and asked about shipping to Canada and why they don't and I got a LONG rant from him about how Canadians complain too much about the costs and he has no control over the rates it is live from the shipping website, I think he has the same issues with Canada as he does wtih Alaska.

I have copy and pasted my email to cakes n things AND his response---- OMG- I am laughing so hard! Quick everybody- send an email-- flood his inbox!! LMAO!!

Ms. McCardle,

If you believe all you read instead of experiencing our great products and service that over 250,000 satified customers have then we would not want you as a customer because you have a closed mind.

I would imagine that if a group of people would say it was okay to jump off a cliff you would do that too according to your logic.

Have a great day!
