Heehee why don't we all log onto their website and use their comments box for 'suggestions', something like:
Hey, have been browsing your site for the past few days and was about to place an order for goods totalling $$$, however, I have just heard how appallingly you treated one of my decorator friends so I have decided to give my $$$ to one of your rival companies. My suggestion - staff training in basic manners and service should help your business considerably.
As I was reading this thread I actually had the same idea. Whey don't we all log onto their website and use the comment box....that would just be too funny
OMG just Google and read complains, they are unbelievable.
I've read calling customers stupid and biatch so far =O
You are kind of lucky not shopping from them.
In my previous life (before cakes) I was in sales/advertising and this is a perfect example of using the 2/12 rule. Great service from a business and you tell 2 of your friends and they tell 2 more and they tell 2 more. Poor service and you tell 12 of your friends and they tell 12 more and then 12 more and then 12 more........Its great that you are posting this here because in this economy when your (our ) hard earned money speaks louder than ever and competition is so fierce for that $, customer service is at the top of list when deciding to buy. CC is a great place for referrals and is great to check on a business in this industry and its practices. Thank you for posting so I will know where NOT to buy!!!!
Has anyone ever called the police on this man, such as the teen who was threatened? Surley something could be done to him. I think cc needs to actively post this information much more and with clear WARNING notices.
Oh okay, weird! Sorry! I haven't ordered from them in over a year so I guess maybe they got worse since I ordered.
In the past I've gotten immediate and great service...but again that was over a year ago, maybe closer to a year and a half.
Just wanted to say thanks for the heads up, and the additional links. I ran across this site this weekend looking for a certain mold and was actually going to place an order at the end of this week. One of the things I liked was they were in Illinois (i like to try to support midwest businesses when I can since we're neighbors)
But after following some links and doing some searches looks like i'll pick a mold from somewhere else.
Looks like he copied his customer feedback from Ebay. I read the complaints on that one website and I can't believe anyone representing a company would act like that. I'd love to give him a call tomorrow
It if helps, cybercakes has a good selection of candy molds. I have visited their store and they are really nice people.
Thanks for the heads up...putting that website in my "do not do business with" folder (which is getting quite large LOL)
What happened to customer survice? Is it a lost art?
I just placed an order with Candy Mold Central a few weeks ago and had no problem at all. Order arrived in a couple of days.
I can't BELIEVE this guy is still in business! I first read about him last year and I thought for SURE he would be done by now. I used to work with a Jack@$$ just like him, he thrived on making people feel like crap. Any and everything would turn in to a battle. It was classic little man syndrome. We should flood his crappy website with comments, imagine if he got 1000 emails from us CC'rs in one day? His head might explode ....

Maybe he was wearing his other personality the day you ordered
It is the same company!

I seriously can't see how this guy stays in business! I actually emailed this company last week to find a certain mold. They wrote back and said they didn't carry it but would check with another company they use. Never heard back. So glad he never WROTE back!
I read those complaints! Wow! Seriously, how do they stay in business with attitudes like that?
wow, I am just speechless over his comments. Anyone who has been in customer service for more than 20 minutes knows this is definitely the wrong way to handle something that wasn't even an issue to start with.
So sad.
You have to read the last complaint on this site http://alaskapride.blogspot.com/2009/06/cakes-n-things-doesnt-want-alaska.html

Wow... you know it's bad when even Debi doesn't have a quick, perfect response!!
I too read the comments on that feedback website, and am absolutely appalled at his behaviour. Wow.
jeez what is that guys problem :/ im amazed hes still in buisness, i bet he doesnt kiss his mother with that mouth !
I read those comments and all I can say is Holy Crap!!!!
I can't believe he is still in business. I wonder how the guy treats his staff (if he even has any).
Also, I would love to know if that poor young girls parents ever pressed any charges against him??!!
Well I bet if you lose one CC'ers business, you've just lost a crap load!
I can't figure out how it is more difficult to ship to Alaska than anywhere else.
I can't believe this guy is still in business.
WOW. Totally amazing someone can be so crazy and still in business. You actively have to work at being horrible to get an "F" from the Better Business Bureau. So sad., he needs anger management and possibly other therapies.
I actually emailed this guy last week before this whole thread started and asked about shipping to Canada and why they don't and I got a LONG rant from him about how Canadians complain too much about the costs and he has no control over the rates it is live from the shipping website, I think he has the same issues with Canada as he does wtih Alaska.
Wow!! That is nuts! Obviously some people don't understand how important good customer service is. Maybe we should all send them an email stating that we won't be ordering from them, and why.
I agree with the others, when I say, thank you for the heads up. I will make it a point not to do business with this company. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep up with the company name changes, so I don't order in error.
I have copy and pasted my email to cakes n things AND his response---- OMG- I am laughing so hard! Quick everybody- send an email-- flood his inbox!! LMAO!!
Ms. McCardle,
If you believe all you read instead of experiencing our great products and service that over 250,000 satified customers have then we would not want you as a customer because you have a closed mind.
I would imagine that if a group of people would say it was okay to jump off a cliff you would do that too according to your logic.
Have a great day!

Maybe their shipping is so high because they're loosing all of their potential customers with their rudeness
Terrible way to do business.
I love how he is trying to insult you in that email and is actually proving YOUR point. Hello???????????

Proves that old adage about "give 'em enough rope and they'll hand themselves".
