I'm making champagne flavored cupcakes, but I'm at a loss for what to decorate them with. No sprinkles, etc. Ideas?
I am new to decorating but when I think of champagne, I think of roses and strawberries. I think either would be nice or even maybe a combination.
I'm just putting regular buttercream on them. It's my first time making them, and that may be a mistake. We'll see! I'm using a really sweet champagne (Moscato Astispumate Champagne) so it probably won't taste too much like a "real" champagne.
How about PopRocks, the candy that fizzes and pops in your mouth. You'd probably have to put them on right before serving or wait til the bc crusted so they don't all pop on the icing, but it could be fun.

Oh, I think this idea rocks...no pun intended .
I'm going to have to try this!!

Oh, the cake will taste and smell like champagne, for sure. It's good with the sweet champagne. I made one for a wedding and filled it with Bavarian cream and fresh sliced strawberries, iced with vanilla buttercream. Very tasty.
Wow, tinygoose, I love the Pop Rocks idea too! What fun that would be & a surprise to the ones eating it!
Poprocks are a great idea! Thanks for the confidence builder Ruth! I'm glad I'm on the right track!
We do a pink champagne cupcake. The buttercream is a pale pink and we put a tiny sprinkle of pink, edible glitter and a few edible pearls. People go crazy for them!
I frost mine with a pale pink champagne flavored buttercream and top with white chocolate shavings
How do you flavor bc or cake to be champagne? Never heard of this and it sounds so wonderful. I would love a recipe. With this flavor, I would think to deco cupcakes or cake with bubbles made from blown sugar or made from fondant or piped on with bc.

You add champagne... There are a bunch of pink champagne cake recipes in the recipe section here. Just do a search.
