I'm going with "nautical/beach". My husband and sons are very big into sailing, and the season officially kicked off this weekend. I figured by adding "beach" to the nautical, it would give everyone a few more options. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Oh! Double Goody! No kidding...I just ordered a variety of oceanic(?) cutters! It would be too cool if they arrived before this weekend!

Nautical/beach -- cool theme! Hmmmmm.......

SUPER EXCITED about the May cookie theme! I missed this month because I had a baby last week and have been a little busy, lol!! We're celebrating my son's 3rd birthday in May and his party theme is "beach." Now I have even more of a reason to go all-out with his cookies icon_biggrin.gif

Congratulations! I can't imagine why you'd be busy....a newborn and a three year old... (Oviously, I'm kidding!) Good luck with the cookies!

GeminiRJ - Wow! Thanks! Coming from you, that is a huge compliment! You are a cookie master icon_smile.gif Do you use a projector for your cookies? I wish I could get one, but too much $$ for just my little hobby!

Yes, I have a projector. I've only started using it for cookies. For the most part, I've used it for cakes. It's expensive, yes, but worth every penny!

Congrats, chefjulie!

I almost bought a KopyKake projector at a garage sale once... (From a lady who'd had a lifelong career as a cake decorator who was then retiring.) I now KICK myself for not buying it!!!!

At the risk of looking stupid, can I ask how a projector's used to make cookies? icon_redface.gif

A projector can project an image to much larger or much smaller it's original size. You use the larger part for cakes and shrink the images with the projector for cookies.

Ok, I'm a procrastinator I know...........but I made it!!!

Here are a couple cookies for a little bouquet I"m doing.....she said "do whatever, we're just going to eat them" lol

she wanted "spring" themed so that works!

The 3 bigger cookies are SUPPOSED to look like tulips that are varrigated (sp?) you know.....kinda streaked.......not too easy to pull across with icing!

I have another "seed packet" cookie that's not decorated yet (you can see my edible marker kinda popped through the icing a little on different sections so I'm waiting to do the other one!

edited to add that the one tulip on the right where the outline is raised........I'm making another one that's flat like the other two......kinda liked that look better!

You sure start training them young, KHalstead! Yes, she is quite the "budding" (haha!) artist, indeed.

Your cookies are very cool -- the tulips almost look like brush embroidery. Is that sanding sugar in the center of the yellow flower? The tiny seed packets are sweet. (How the heck do you decorate a cookie that is one inch square?!?!? -- I guess a SIX-year-old's fingers are small enough to do that, but mine sure aren't! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif
