Hi Everyone,

I'm making a cookie favor that includes MMF flowers tinted the same color as the link below. The pic should include a bridal party dress with the bottom part a blue-ish purple-ish color.

I'm glad I checked with the customer. She told me "royal" and I just thought navy blue right off the bat. This appears to be a dark periwinkle. I normally use wilton gel colors. But, may be able to get americolor at the little cake shop we have.

What would you use?

It looks navy to me..I would start with Royal blue and add a touch of black or regal purple..I use Americolors so I'm not sure about wilton..You will need alot though to get navy...

I agree with kiddie cakes, get it as blue as you can with royal blue, and a smidge of purple, and a tiny bit of black

That looks royal blue, use wilton royal blue and add till you get it deep enough, I had a cake with that color, my sons school color, look in my photos, (its not a very good pic tho) It will take at least 2 little pots or one big one. Hth, its a tough color to have. Oh and rem it will deepen with time, so get close and then wait a few hours, and check.

my computer settings might be off, but that looks like royal purple to me. I would start off with americolors regal purple and once that was strong i would add, a smidgeon at a time, navy blue or royal blue.

I agree. I thought I must be color blind until I read your post. I'm seeing purple as well icon_lol.gif

Computer screens frequently don't give an accurate color representation. I think I'd be asking your client for an actual fabric swatch to match.... I see royal blue, BTW.......

This dress looks like a Royal Blue. Open the link and use the browse by color drop down and change the color of the dress. The navy however does look almost black. Check it out.

Looks like a deep periwinkle to me. For Wilton's colors, I would use purple mixed with royal blue then just a very small amount of black to darken the color. Make it at least a few hours ahead of time to let the color deepen.

If you can get a swatch of that fabric I would! Periwinkle is a hard color to match, sometimes it looks more on the blue side and sometimes it looks more on the purple side. If you can get Americolors I would really go with those. You might try mixing the royal with violet or regal and if you need to go darker maybe a touch of black. But if you can get a hold of that material that will really help you out.

Good Luck!

Hi all i though periwinkle at first to but thought it was more lavender, i looked up crayola color fun, and other sites and there are so many different shades i found one on huhch.com/favorate-color periwinkle, the flower they show is almost exact. but i think the swatch is a must also, usually you can buy a small one from the bridal shop. on one site's they showed it as a pastel lavender.

I think you'll need a nice navy blue color (and a bit of royal blue to help) and then add bits of purple or violet until it matches...

if u have a picture program..... you can save the image... then use the color grab tool and it will tell you the color with a number code... that might help...
