I saw a Fantastic cake in the Galleries by Alogga69..It was a poker/gambling cake..One of the best I have seen.It says she used edible images on rice paper.I have only ever tried rice paper once and it got caught in my printer and broke off because it was too brittle and I had to literally throw the printer away....


so my question is this.....How do you run it through without it breaking or getting caught? or should I just stick to edible image paper....I have a bundle of 100 rice sheets to use up

i use rice paper too to print off butterflies. If the rice paper is old or has not been wrapped well it dries out and gets brittle. try pulling a sheet from the middle of the bundle it might not be so brittle. Perhaps the whole lot could be put into a large ziplock bag and add something to help ad moisture back. im thinking on the lines of a slice of apple to soften hard brown sugar. not sure what you could put in the ziplock though.

ditto sweetcakes. Your wafer paper (proper name) is old. Either it was dried out when you bought it, or it's been around a long time. I buy the 100 pack also and mine's got to be at least a year old and it's still flexible to go thru the printer.

You can also trace a pattern on it and color it in with non-toxic markers. But you've still got to cut out the shapes.
