Well, it had to happen eventually. Bride from five years ago, divorced, engaged again and wants me to do her cake.
Who says there's no repeat business in the wedding cake biz?
good grief. how does someone marry, have a marriage, seperate, divorces, finds someone new, builds a relationship, gets engaged and then gets married again... all in 5 years?
I had one do it in two years! My husband is always asking if I had a repeat customer yet, so he was thrilled when I got that call!

I hope she's not asking for a discount!

Well, that might encourage her to do it again!
Go ahead and pencil her in for June 2015 too.
Oh, that is so wrong! LOL

heheheheh i was going to post something very similar and then thought no i cant say that... out loud
Hey it means you do good work! I haven't been in business long enough for this to happen yet but maybe it will. Just means we make damn good wedding cakes.
Hey, it is bound to happen in this day and age! Unfortunately it happens more often than not.
She had a baby too. First DH left her while she was pg. She's a really, really good and nice, church-going girl and didn't deserve the treatment by the first hubby. She sounds happy and settled now. Actually I'm happy for her.
Any man that leaves his wife while she's pregnant isn't worth spit. What a creep! Glad to hear she's found a good guy!

Next month WOULD have been my 6th anniversary, but it didn't work out (a disaster, really). I'm engaged to an amazing guy now.
Don't judge... you never know what goes on in someone's life.

((shrugs shoulders)) im not bashing down the door judging, its called making a comment
Maybe instead of a free 1 st. anniversary cake,we should offer a divorce cake package !! It could be a small stacked cake, cut down the center with just a bride or groom on top with party favors. LOL
60% of all weddings are 2nd and 3rd weddings, so a high divorce rate in your area means big wedding business!! wooo-whooo!!!
My youngest sister was married 3 times by the time she was 25. She's just the most, shall we say "fascinating" little redneck girl you'll ever meet!
Worked with a woman who was married 7 times by the time she was 50-ish. None of us could figure out what she had that made so many men fall in love with her!
Went to school with a guy who was on his 5th marriage at 40.
All of them had wedding cakes!
...... married 7 times ......
oh my gosh, thats sounds like such hard work! im such an old fashion chick... i refused to even live with my husband until we married and i was 30yrs old by then

Good Lord, times they are a changin!!
I had a friend once that said if any other party were like a wedding reception, she probably wouldn't have gotten married 3 times.
Perhaps a punch card is in order. Buy 5, get 1 free
My mother has been married 5 times and it seems like this one is gonna stick (14 years already)... but if not she's paying full price for the next one.

LOL - very easy - just ask me - lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Its like shoes - if they fit, are comfy to be around - look stylish - don't give you grief, and make you smile - then thats it.
2nd Marriage for us both and we are not only Husnabd and Wife - best friends.
Plus the older you get - you really don't carry on with all that....
*i need my space cr*p*
*if we are together in 10 years we will marry*
*what will people think* - who cares what others think, they don't make my bed....or pay my bills.
*lets live together 2 days a week first*
Nope...... when its right - its right.
ONLY DRAW BACK 2ND TIME ROUND - CAN'T ASK THE PARENTS TO PAY - FOR THE WEDDING

Amen!
we have a joke in our house (that my stand-up comedian husband has actually used on stage)......
Debi: 2nd marriages are the BEST! I recommend 2nd marriages to EVERYONE!
Hubby: OH boy! Can't wait until MY 2nd marriage, then!!
Well in my opinion marriage all boils down to the following:
Luck - you never know what life is going to throw at you - even the nicest, most loving people can't manage to get through some situations /ordeals and stay together.
Some people are just plain dizzy when they get married and get carried away with the whole big day, big frock, big bill idea. Others are in it for the long haul - regardless. Nobody knows what goes on beind someone else's closed doors.
Either way most people are just trying to find happiness - is there really anything wrong with wanting to share a happy life with someone you love who loves you back?
I've got the perfect marriage . . . I love my husband and want to throttle him with the same passion
You know, all kidding aside, I LOVE 2nd wedding cakes...whether they are for a 2nd marriage or a vow renewal. More often than not, they choose some fun/funky design since they went traditional the first time.

You got it exactly right! This time I AM marrying my best friend (before I thought that was just some crap they said in DeBeers commercials or movies or something lol). Besides, the first one had mental issues that even a psychiatrist couldn't have spotted before the wedding... OY! lol
I've had quite a few "repeaters", I actually have one bride that I have pictures of both of her wedding cakes on the same page in my book, they were only 2 years apart. I had one that was on #5, we did that one even though she found out she wasn't going to be legally divorced from #4 at the time of the wedding. She said she had everything in place for the reception, so they would just go to the town hall later to get married, I wonder if she ever did lol, or did she just moved on to the next one and not have to spend the time to divorce him. People like that should be wedding planners, they like the planning and the party part of the wedding, not the marriage part.
I had one come in (it was a repeater groom) and he said "you were the only part of that wedding that was right, so I knew if I got married again the cake would be from you". A little strange coming from a groom, but I will always remember him for saying that.
And this is the cake i had 2nd time around
White roses in a white vase - so very Bluehue.
Its the one called ANN

I have been thinking about this subject over dinner and i have come to the conclusion that -
There is no time limit one can place on people as to when and how they get married.
There is of course family traditions that many abide by -
But at the end of the day - we all are only human - noone has a crystal ball to see what lies ahead for us - and we can only go by the *gut instinct* that we each have from time to time.
Who knows what the future has in wait for them -
Who knows how long we have to thump around and leave our *carbon footprint* on this planet
All i know is that right here - right now - i am so very happy and content after 4.5 years of marriage to a man who walked into my life when i least expected it - and i thank him often for being the one who let me smile again.
And after only 6 Months of knowing me - it was he who pointed out that white vase with white roses in it and said -
"ohhh, that is soooo you - that has to be our wedding cake"
See - magic happens - i never ask why - it just does.
And you ask -
What the hell has that got to do with this thread
Nothing really - just wanted to post a picture of my wedding cake and tell a noooice little story about me along the way ...ROFL.
Bluehue
Okay, I think I may be the record-holder here....
Same bride married twice, the same year!! About 8 months apart, I think.
I was like, hey, you look familiar! She said, ( a little sheepishly)" You did a wedding for me back in March... new guy now."
Oh, man, I just tried to act like that happened all the time. But what a compliment that that ordered again! An expensive one too! Now that's a great customer!
