I've heard so much about the beater blade for the KA, anyone try this one out?

I have (2) of them one for each mixer, they are okay, the only thing I don't care to much about is having to get the icing out from inbetween each blade, but it works great. I never have to clean the sides of the bowl anymore

I still have to use my old one. I use the beater blade when first creaming the butter and adding flavorings when making buttercream, but if I add powder sugar, it throws it out and makes it a big mess. I have to switch to my old one for adding dry ingredients. Then I switch again to the beater blade to mix. Other than that, I do love it - it mixes everything together well in a shorter amount of time. I have the 5qt bowl.

I got one just yesterday and used it last night. It does a good job of keeping the sides and bottom of the bowl clean but when I went to add powdered sugar to my bowl it threw most of it back out - and I was only on speed 1. I dont know if that was typical or not - I just put a towel around the bowl and kept going.

i have mixed reviews.... I like it for cookie dough, but for cake batter and icing i think it changes the consistency from what i'm used to. Not sure if it's more air or what but I didn't use it that often so I gave it to my grandma who LOVES it.

ayerim979 - I had that pulled up in another window and forgot to post the link.

I haven't gotten it yet, but it looks like it might be better for me.

I've read that the other one has a plastic shaft that breaks.

I absolutely love mine. I have a 6 quart and I haven't had any issues. I have always placed a wet paper towel around the top when I add my dry ingredients, but the only time any really comes up on me is if I'm doing an extra large batch.

I have one, and all the little pokey-out plastic parts have torn and come off. I have no idea why. A few fell off in cookie dough...I almost didn't see it and baked it in. So be careful!
