Good Afternoon Everybody! I know I have seen some posts on here that incorporate beer into the recipes. I am trying desperately to find some killer recipes that have wine in them. We are planning a bridal shower for my sister and she is a big wine enthusiast who would LOVE some wine cuppies and cake. Does anyone have recipes they could share?? Thanks! icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif

I don't have a recipe per se, but I have used Moscato de Asti in a cake. I used myregular vanilla cake recipe and the wine will need to be reduced to about a 1/4-1/3 cup and substitute it for some of the liquid. Keep an eye on it though, burned wine smells disgusting. icon_razz.gif Your sister could probably give you some guidance in choosing other wines to try. Generally, I think a sweeter wine is going to be your best option. I hope that helps a little. Good luck

I made Snarkybaker's vanilla cognac cake this last week. It was really moist. I couldn't find Vanilla Cognac, so I used plain cognac. Anyway, iit had a strong taste of wine. I think it was more of a non-sweet....merlot type. I'm not a wine drinker, can you tell! It was quite strong tasting. I did use a little less Cognac and more vanilla.

I receive the Food and Wine magazine, and a couple of months ago there was a recipe for a chocolate red wine cake. I haven't tried it, but I have made chocolate red wine truffles and the flavor combination is great! Here is the link:
