Cake with the poured beer.....how do I make the poured beer?

Could someone please help me, I want to make a cake that looks like poured beer, or a rootbeer mug with root beer pouring on the cake with the can in the air. Hard to explain but I need help please.

If you look in my photos I made a beer pouring into a mug. I used a long dowel down the center of the cake. I covered the dowel with the same color fondant that I wrapped the mug in and then used a modeling tool or end of a paint brush to make marks running vertically to look like pouring beer. I then put a glob of hot glue on the end and stuck the empty can on. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

I'm making the pouring beer tomorrow using a technique a generous CCer shared with me. She carmelized sugar and then dipped her rod into it, let it cool a little and shaped it with her hands. If you want more info, let me know and I'll pass on the message she sent me. HTH!
