I agree. Aine2 (Lorraine McKay) is amazing. Here's a link to her blog.

edited to add: I just looked at your pictures! Your cakes are great. I think you will have no problem at all modeling fondant figures!
Youtube has some tutorials, and a posted above Rylan posted an entire forum with a BUNCH of tutorials!!

If you like books, there's always those by Debbie Brown, Massie Parrish, and Lindy Smith, to name a few (check w/your library, they might carry some by these authors). And then there's "Annie Lang's Polymer Clay Characters" by Stacey Morgan -- just swap gumpaste/fondant for the polymer clay. There are other polymer clay books, too - - just do a google search. HTH
This thread has lots of links to modelling info:

But, I agree with the above posters - get Aine2's tutorials. They are fantastic - and worth every single penny!
We too have purchased a bunch of polymer clay books that helped a bunch! Modeling chocolate works well for figures like that IMO.

Yes I agree Aine2 youtube video are very good, but also I like the book How to Make Clay Characters by Maureen Carlson. It goes over facial features, hair, hands, clothing and body preportions.
Well, you could always do what many of us did..... looked at pics and figured it out. Back in the day there were no tutorials or Internet or youtube videos.
