How To Make This Stiletto Shoe?
Decorating By FeGe_Cakes Updated 28 Oct 2013 , 8:46pm by Auntie Sheila
Hello everyone,
I ran into this cake while browsing for ideas.
http://www.elitecakedesigns.com.au/stiletto-shoebox-cake.html
I took a shoe class last year but the toughest part is to make a consistent heel. Any idea how they made this heel so clean and skinny?
Do you think it was gumpaste or modeling chocolate or something else?
I am almost tempted to find an old shoe and make my own mold if I wanted to do a life size shoe.
Any thoughts would be appreciated
P.S. I know there are templetes on this website, but nothing compares to this shoe. This shoe is very realistic.
That is exactly what you should do. In fact, that is how I made my first gumpaste shoe. I took one of my shoes and used it as a mold to create the shoe you see below. I think that I will attempt to re-create the red gucci shoe for a cake that I have for next month. What you can do is find an old high heel shoe, cut off the straps, or outer part of the shoe. You should be left with just the sole and the heel. Trace the insole on paper or a folder, cut it and use as a template. Roll some gumpaste or modeling chocolate as narrow as you want to create the heel shape.
Hi, I also have a shoe to make for next week. I bought a pair of shoes which was really cheap. And I cut the outer part and use the sole as a foamer. Have you seen the new video from Pink cake box? If not here is the link,
HTH.
Yes, i've seen it and thought it was a great learning tool. This is what I used to complete my shoe. Someone actually thought this was a real shoe.
WOW! What a great idea to use a real show as your pattern or template. I need to make a shoe in June and I am trying to find out how I am going to make this thing.
That shoe was made at a Planet Cake course in Sydney Australia - the person that could help you was DEACTIVATED from CC
If you have any questions, I am sure if you email Anne - she would help you out. I think it is pretty well explained though! I love it that she shares!
thanks for the link....that was really helpful....i will be doing a purse cake...would like to do shoes too...can wait to try it.
Thanks for the link! This is really great. I just don't like gumpaste much..you have to work really fast or it starts drying out.
I think the modeling chocolate is a great idea, but she didn't do the heel the way I would have expected or the way the Gucci shoe cake link I posted in my original post, but gives me some other ideas to work with.
Thanks again for the pinkcake box link to youtube.
hi.
my shoes are made of marzipan, I just use my hands to shape the heel, let it dry. so I made sole and a form so that the base could dry on the heel
good luck

Thank you
My english is very bad, so you will excuse me, hihi I have to use google translate so text is a little strange.
ask me again if you do not understand everything.
have a nice day
I've seen that particular shoe done many times -- check the gallery and PM those who have tried it. There's some very talented people out there!
I tried this technique this evening on the shoe that I'm currently working on. I rolled the gumpaste into a log and shaped the top to a 45% angle and then I used my x-acto knife and cut the heel down not the top just the heel to the width I needed for my stiletto.
I hopte this helps. Once the shoe is completed, i'll post.
Oops! I forgot, don't forget to smooth the gumpaste into position once you cut the heel to the width you need for your show.
Good Luck
How do you make this stiletto shoe look so real? I want to make cupcake stilettos but I want them to look like a real shoe
