Hi. I know I don't post very often but I lurk all the time. I'm an avid caker/cc addict. Anyway...I had written down how to add pudding to a cake mix and I have lost my sticky note (yes...I'm a sticky note queen). I know it was a small box of instant pudding, I think 1 cup of sour cream and then I can't remember the rest. Does anyone know what else I need to add? I would greatly appreciate it. I get rave reviews when I do this but I haven't made a cake in awhile.
Thanks so much for your help.
Here's a link to a version of the WASC:
http://cakecentral.com/recipes/1972/durable-cake-for-3d-and-wedding-cakes
I've also used one that adds (on top of the ingredients required on the box)
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp extract
1 small box pudding mix
That version of WASC seems to be close. I'll try that. I could just kick myself for loosing that piece of paper..grrr.
iamelms..I will have to try that add ons. I've done extender before but not sure if that was one I tried.
Thank you so much. I'm off to bake my sons birthday cupcakes and cake. I hope they turn out ok.

I use this extender on every cake I bake. It's great.
it's what I use too............it gives you a more dense and almost "homemade" scratch taste to the cake!! People never know there are cake mixes in my cakes lol
The extender the other cc'ers have posted is the one I use and it's virtualy no-fail for me.
Side note: I couldn't help but smile about your sticky notes...I do the same thing and have little piles of them with scribblings of recipes or tips and advice that I come across when lurking on here.
I use that extender too, unless I am just doing two 8 x 2 rounds for personal consumption and then I use 1/2 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 pkg of instant pudding. A whole pkg just seems to make the cake a little too wet for my personal taste.
Ok. So I made my cupcakes (didn't get to the cake...will start that tonight..don't need it until Sunday). After I put all the ingredients out it was the WASC version that was posted. I will have to try that extender version sometime though.
I did have a bad problem last night though. I put all my ingredients in and right after I put the oil in the bowl I knew it smelled funny. I looked and it was OLD! I mean...3/09 old! YUCK! It made my cupcakes taste funny Good thing it was just for his preschool class. They don't taste bad just odd. Needless to say that oil that was left went out with the garbage this morning.
pinky...I'm so glad I'm not the only sticky queen around. My desk at work is covered and then my kitchen and pantry has them everywhere. Little tidbits of information..lol. Someday I'm going to get them organized.
Shellbell,
LOL...We must have the same desk at work...My sticky notes are getting out of control. I even bought a little plastic/laminate type 4x6 picture brag book thing at walmart that I thought I would slide all of these sticky notes in to get them sort of organized and somewhat protected..well, that has now added itself to the pile of notes instead. Awesome.
What 's really bad is when I find that I have written the same little recipes or tip on different notes repeatedly...I have toba's glace recipe scribbled three different times! Ridiculous.
Thanks for posting this information. I am a cookier, but my daughter is a little budding baker and can use this information. Thanks again!
