I bought Satin ice for the first time. I tasted the white at the store and it tasted good so I bought some in black to save me time. The black has a bitter taste to it. Is this due to all the color it took to make it or is it maybe just my batch. I have read alot of satin ice and haven't heard of anyone else having this complaint, that is why I am asking. Also can I add flavoring to it to make it better, I want to make sure since it is already so soft.

I have always thought that the black Satin Ice tastes just like the other colors or white, I haven't noticed any bitter taste.

You can definitely add flavoing to it, I use a little of LorAnn Oils to it, if it gets too soft just knead in a little powered sugar.

Good luck.

I use a fair amount of black, and it totally tastes like vanilla. If you close your eyes you should not taste a difference between the white and the colors.

Can you take it back to the store and exchange it for some black with a different batch number?
You might want to contact the company and inquire if they've had similar complaints with that particular batch number.

I would take it back as well, I use black all the time and it tastes just like the rest.....
