LOL!
The prep work I was thinking to get out of the way after everyone goes to bed the night before my one, long(6 hours, uninterrupted, daytime hours), free day.
Then, do them by item...like, do all the bottles...then, all the baby faces...then, ...then,...(I'd start draggin' as$ if I had to work with one color for too long)...tell myself I can't have a fresh cup of coffee until I complete a set will motivate me to focus (usually does anyway)
I haven't totally given up on cookie camp yet! I want to go really, really bad! (Seriously, there's talk of t-shirts! How can I pass up an official cookie camp t-shirt?) Other than the whole time off from work issues, I have this phobia about flying. I can't imagine getting to Tennessee any other way...given time constraints.
what a coincidence! I can't fly! i think it's a control freak thing with me. right now i'm planning the 10 hour drive. too bad Nebraska wasn't on the way!!
200 cookies for me, 3 ten hour days from start to finish, but that's using a commercial kitchen with 2 convection ovens. This includes baking and decorating NOT individual packaging.
P.S. I'm not very detail oriented
Suggestion on the onesies, do them with the polkadots( wet on wet ) then your done with them in one fell swoop, plus I think it's really cute
globalgatherings, your's has plenty of detail and well done too! I love polka dot anything! One of the contributors on flickr achieved the gingham look on her ribbons (like 1/4" wide ribbons! that had to be stressful!). I am going to attempt it (I'm using gingham as the unifying element for the showers...yes, they will be almost identical...I might make their cakes different...might.)

That gingham look is soooo cute, thanx for sharing, never seen that before. Yes you should do it. Let us know how they come out. If only I lived closer, I would come help you. It's so much more fun with help.

<10 hrs to mix colors and decorate 148....granted, they're not as refined as I would've liked (I REALLY didn't want to make another batch of icing for stiffer stuff for detailing...I still could...but I doubt I will). I'm content with them. Thanks to all for your help!

They are really nice! I love the baby faces with the bow. Did you make the bows out of RI as well?
I love all these cookies - I tend to keep my cookies simple but want to do more intricate designs. GEMINIRJ - your flower cookies (and all the others) are fantastic....do you outline in black and then flood in color or do all the color and highlight in black after???? please share your expertise.

Outlining is the very last thing I do. It's time-consuming, but I like how it really accentuates the design. I use a #1s tip for all outlines and details, using thickened glace.
What, where and when is cookie camp??????
Cookie Camp is set for Sept. 20, 21, 22 at Camp BaYoCa in Tennessee. All the information is on flickr.com, go to "Groups", and it's in "cookie cutter cookies". The cost is around $16 per night for lodging. There will be workshops, contests, and lots of baking together! Some of the decorators already signed up are at the top of their fields, and I'm green with envy that I probably won't be able to attend! Space is limited, so if you're interested, check it out. From beginnner to professional, everyone is welcome.
I know exactly where that camp is! My sister lives in Maryville, and we drive that road to Sevierville/Pigeon Forge sometimes. My parents even looked at a house right there a few years ago!!!
Ok, my favorite part of the country, my favorite hobby, could even use the excuse of visiting my sister! I would love to make this happen!
