Hi all, I made a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, but it's runny in the heat and humitity. What can I do to stop it from running down the cake and hold some gumpaste flowers. thanks all icon_lol.gif

I use a recipe called Crusting Cream Cheese by Edencakes. I found it a couple of years ago and have never had a problem with it. It tastes really good too and I can't stand cream cheese. Go figure. Hope this helps.

The Crusting Cream Cheese cake on here is great, I would also refrigerate it as long as you can before hand. Good Luck!

How do I find Edencake's Crusting Cream Cheese icing? I didn't find it when I did a search. That's just what I need for granddaughter's birthday cake coming up. Thanks, Opal

That's a good recipe and my go to for cream cheese icing. But also the cream cheese icing from Earlene's (on earlene's website) is shelf-stable for several days and can withstand heat.
