A guitar cake for less than ten people LOL Thats too funny!!! I think people find out that cake is charged by the slice and figure if they tell you its for 10 people you will only charge them for 10 servings LOL

"I'll take the pirate ship and the treasure chest cake for next weekend!"

To which I responded, that will be $221.25 and 50 servings of cake, is that enough?

I get this all the time:

"So how much are the cakes?"

Today I said to someone, "Anywhere from $20 to $1000."

I think later I'm gonna walk into Target and ask someone, "Hey, how much is this stuff?" and point around at the whole store.

This is not cake related but the use of the word "regular" reminded me of my days of serving. People would order a grilled cheese and I would give normal shpeel and ask "ok would you like american, cheddar, swiss, or pepper jack cheese?" You have NO IDEA how many people would say "oh just the regular kind....." WTF? Some even got irritated with me when I would try to press for something more specific because I did not want to deal with them sending it back later because it wasnt "regular"

Some people...kills me lol

When I worked in the grocery store, we had what I thought was a pretty easy order form. At the top of the page we would have them select the size of cake, followed by flavor, followed by type of icing, the colors, decorations, the inscription, then pickup and contact information. Easy peasy.

EVERY DAY. EVERY FREAKIN DAY, I would get at least one person scan the order form for 2 seconds and hand it to me saying, "I don't know how to order a cake, fill this out for me."

How many teachers did we all have that would say before every test, "Now kids before you start, read the test thoroughly so you understand what you're being asked."

Eventually (and this was mainly during grad season when I didn't have a second to spare) I would just say to them, "Just start at the top and work your way down."

"But this Dora cake in your book, I just want that cake!" Okay, check the box next to Dora, it's not that hard!

I've gotten several order forms that just have the contact info and the design selected. Nothing else! So I would call to see about the size, type of icing, inscription, etc. And of course they would be frustrated with me for not knowing that already. "I just want it like in the book!" But that doesn't tell me what flavor of cake you want. We've only got three options, it's not a big decision.

Sorry, this post became longer than I thought it would!!!

THen pick the "weirdest" kind and say, "Ok! One Pepper Jack grilled cheese coming up!" If they protest, "No! I said REGULAR!" you just look confused and say, "but pepper jack is MY regular!?" (tilt head, smile confused, and keep staring at them).

But then ..... I DO tend to take the smart a$$ approach to things! icon_rolleyes.gif
