I need to make a 3D train cake for an adult. All the train cakes I have seen look so childlike, this cake is for a 48 year old man! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make a grown up train? Any advise is appreciated!

The pic that comes to my mind is a different colour scheme, black with gold/bronze accents, like those clockwork type cakes.

My mother did one for a 90+ year old man who used to work on a trains. It was a 3D replica of a train he actually worked on. This one was a dark green like hunter green. It did not look childish at all. I don't have a pic to show. Wish I did though.

I'd base it more off a realistic train rather than a cutesy one. Does he have a favorite model train that they could loan you?
