Good afternoon all,

How long can you keep a pre-made fondant pieces and how do u store it?

I want to do a cake for next Friday - my first time working with fondant.

I was thinking of starting to work with it to see how it will go. I need to make some letters and circles.

Will they keep until next week? How should I package it and where to keep it?

Thank you for your help!

You can store items for weeks or months. Keep them covered, out of direct light, but NOT in airtight containers. They need a little air circulation to keep them dry.

Fondant figures can be kept for a month if they are to be eaten and indefinately if they will NOT be eaten. i store mine in a tin in a cool DRY place. as diane said NEVER EVER store in an airtight container!! keep dust and light off them too. good luck. also cmc tylo powder is good in fondant models. helps them to keep thier shape. x
